Reception: We receive a new glider from Manufacturer. We make sure we have the right size and weight range. Manufacturer shall mark the glider and the brake lines before send it to us If not, we must mark the glider 50% and 75% of the span and 30 % of the cord. These marks help us to make the correct asymmetric and front collapses. We mark also the brake range; 0 point, stall point and afterwards 25%, 50%, 75% of the brake range. We must also receive all technical files regarding the glider. Flight test; EN926-2: The test pilot is ready for testing the glider in free-flight. The following manoeuvres need to be done: 1. Inflation/Take-off video 2. Landing video 3. Speed in straight flight video 4. Control movement video 5. Pitch stability exiting accelerated flight video 6. Pitch stability operating controls during accelerated flight video 7. Roll stability and damping video 8. Stability in gentle spirals video 9. Behaviour in a steeply banked turn video 10. Symmetric front collapse video 11. Exiting deep stall (parachutal stall) video 12. High angle of attack recovery video 13. Recovery from a developed full stall video 14. Asymmetric collapse video 15. Directional control with a maintained asymmetric collapse video 16. Trim speed spin tendency video 17. Low speed spin tendency video 18. Recovery from a developed spin video 19. B-line stall video 20. Big ears video 21. Big ears in accelerated flight video 22. Behaviour exiting a steep spiral video 23. Alternative means of directional control video 24. Any other flight procedure and/or configuration described in the users manual video Each manoeuvre is done at least two times by the test pilot, to make sure to find the same and correct behaviour of the glider. The manoeuvres shall be done in certain angle in front of the camera. This is done for minimum and maximum weight procedure. In average we need three flight per procedure. The manoeuvres is documented by video and voice comments from test pilot during the flight.
Results: After flight test the pilot write the flight test report. If test pilot is not sure about the result, we have to check the video of the recorded flight. If we still not sure about the result, we have to re-begin the flight and maybe with different camera angle. Control the glider: The glider is checked and lines are measured if it is corresponding to the user manual. video
Load test EN926-1: The glider also need to go through sustained load test, shock test and bending test for the line. Shock test: Carry out the test using a weak link to limit the loads to a maximum force Sustained loading test: The paraglider is attached to a test vehicle and flown whilst loads are measured. Load diagram you will find on this page under “all reports”. Bending test: The lines goes through 5000 bendings before we broke the line. We measure the load when the line is broken. Then we do a calculation for strenght of the lines. video
Final: We give the glider a certification number, editing the video, writing and publish reports. The video is manufacturers property and we can not publish it. Here you can see an explanation of FLIGHT TEST REPORT and STICKER. If you still have some question regarding EN certification, feel free to send us an email. Use contact us in the menu.
